چکیده

The ASDL language represents a formal methodology for modeling the software architectural styles that are used to develop complex computer systems. In previous work, ASDL has been used to model a coarse-grain dataflow style used for large-scale signal processing applications. This style incorporates a bottom-up design methodology. In this paper, the expressiveness of ASDL is demonstrated by its use to model a architectural style for parallel and distributed systems that incorporates a top-down design methodology. The ASDL model provides a valuable basis for understanding the style and for posing questions to its developers.

Style-Based Reconfigurations of Software Architectures with QoS Constraints

We present Architectural Design Rewriting (ADR), a graphbased approach to deal with the design of reconfigurable software architectures. The key features we promote are: (i) hierarchical design; (ii) soft constraints for modeling QoS attributes; (iii) style-preserving reconfigurations; (iv) rule-based approach; and (v) algebraic presentation. Roughly, actual architectures are modeled by graphs ...

Analyzing and Re ning an Architectural Style

Architectural styles have been introduced in 1] in order to classify and analyze software architectures. In that paper, Z was used as a notation to specify and study architectural styles, however some problems remained open concerning speciication and analysis of their behavioral properties. In this paper we use a new operational semantics to describe and analyze an architectural style for dist...

Style-Based Architectural Reconfigurations

We introduce Architectural Design Rewriting (ADR), an approach to deal with the design of reconfigurable software architectures. The key features we promote are: (i) rule-based approach (over graphs); (ii) hierarchical design; (iii) algebraic presentation; and (iv) inductivelydefined reconfigurations. Architectures are suitably modeled by graphs whose edges and nodes respectively represent comp...

Colorado Technical Report State University Describing the PGM Architectural Style †

The term software architectural style has recently been introduced to refer to the conventions that are used to interpret a description of a software architecture. The representation and analysis of useful architectural styles is an important problem. This paper gives an overview of a methodology developed by the authors for describing the syntax and semantics of software architectural styles w...

On the chordality of polynomial sets in triangular decomposition in top-down style

In this paper the chordal graph structures of polynomial sets appearing in triangular decomposition in top-down style are studied when the input polynomial set to decompose has a chordal associated graph. In particular, we prove that the associated graph of one specific triangular set computed in any algorithm for triangular decomposition in top-down style is a subgraph of the chordal graph of ...
